Remember When Moments Part 2

My Mom and Dad on the verge of their 45th Anniversary.
I usually don't do two posts in a day, but I wanted to share about the special family time that I had with my parents and brothers, and my brother's girlfriend Pema.
After church we arrived at my parent's house to continue the surprise for my Dad.  He was very happy to see us, which made me happy. 
What was the greatest joy of the day was to see the looks on my parents faces when Jeremy and Jason showed up.  WOW!!!!!!  That was amazing.   It was a very special few hours together.  We didn't have a big party.  My mom isn't supposed to have birthday cake, so I didn't want her to be tempted to eat it.
We did have lunch together.  Then my brothers disappeared for a while.  I found them in the backyard.  Jason and Jeremy were sharing memories with Pema about our times in the neighborhood.  I joined in the conversation when Jeremy was telling about our adventures of sledding down our next door neighbor's hill.  I was reminising about spending time with Mrs. Fairchild  on the other side of our house as she sat on her back steps with her dog.   We talked about our neighbors, the Thomas'.  Mr. Thomas died about 20 years ago.  We used to visit with him as he worked in his yard.  
We spent many hours growing up playing with many of the neighbor kids.   We had plenty of friends throughout the neighborhood to have fun with.   Our grandparents lived across the street, so we spent many hours there.  How I miss my Grandma and Grandpa!!!!! 
We talked about going out for ice cream. It was a regular event for us to stop at Jones Humdinger ice cream store.  It was a frequent event going there after church on Sunday nights. Actually Jeremy and Jason went there after they left my parents.
It was wonderful to just sit and visit.   We're all scattered around NY state now, so it was special being in the same place at the same time. 
I'm thankful for my wonderful family.  I miss them so badly at times.   I'm looking forward to the next time, hopefully soon that we'll be together again.

Senior Citizen Day

 It's official!  I'm now a senior citizen.  I made my appearance in the world at 7 PM on January 11, 1970.  Now I am eligble for senior discounts.  Tim told me that includes Michaels. That will come in handy.  On Facebook, I've received greetings from people from all times of my life.  That's been fun to see. Cry out to God

My pastor, Stephen Crupi, preached about Lamentatations 2 on Sunday morning.  Verse nineteen caught my attention. “Arise, cry out in the night,   at the beginning of the night watches! Pour out your heart like water   before the presence of the Lord! Lift your hands to him  for the lives of your children, who faint for hunger   at the head of every street." (ESV) Thankfully today, most of the children of the world are not suffering with physical hunger, but they hunger for the things of this world.  Many adults are the same way sad to say. When Pastor Stephen read the verse in Lamentations, another cry out to God verse I heard over fifteen years ago at a ladies conference immediately came to mind. Thankfully I had noted the passage so I could find it. The verse is Psalm 57:2  I cry out to God Most High,  to God who fulfills his purpose for me. Nature's Orchestra

  I have been blessed to be able to visit Sperr Park a lot lately. Today it's an extra special blessing. A few months ago I discovered a swinging bench. Today I discovered that it's directly across the lake from the flag pole.  I'm singing the Star Spangled Banner in my head. I posted a reel on my Facebook page with the song It seems fitting as this beautiful park was founded as a memorial of State Trooper Andrew Sperr, who died nearly 20 years ago in the line of duty. He was shot by men who had just robbed a bank near the land that was transformed in his honor. I love to come here, especially this particular place, to relax and listen to the varied nature songs. My favorite here is the red wing blackbird.  I'm thinking of Psalm 19:1 NIV The heavens declare the Glory of God, the skies proclaim the works of his hands.
