Anniversary Adventures
The past few weeks have been filled with making sweet memories with different members of my family.
On September 13, Tim and I celebrated our 20th anniversary. It was a quiet day due to our work schedules. I did get the opportunity to join Tim during his lunch hour and enjoy his company and a delicious Stromboli.
On the 16th, we took advantage of my having a rare Saturday off and made the 2 hour trek to my all time favorite park, Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville NY.
my favorite picture of the day
As soon as I saw the beach and started walking on the shady trail, I was instantly reminded how the park got that all time favorite status. It has always relaxed me walking the trail. I took the time to take some awesome pictures...too many for Tim's liking though. I did slow the picture taking down the second half of our walk. I loved just taking in the sights and the sounds with my love. It was such an awesome day. even the hike up the steep hill to the cabins where we spent much of our last two trips to the park.

During our walk around Green Lake, we encountered three wedding parties. One couple was actually getting married. I thought what a romantic and beautiful place to get married! I wish those couples many years of happiness like Tim and I have had.
As we rounded Green Lake for the second time, we decided we would stop in Cortland, my college home for two years, for dinner. We decided to change our direction and head down Port Watson Street instead of dealing with the bar crowd where we were going to walk. We stopped at an A Plus to go to the bathroom and ended up getting some hot dogs. Nothing fancy, but it was memorable.
Since we were so close to the old bus station where I used to walk down twice a week (once to get my ticket and then on Sundays to catch the bus to go to Syracuse for my internship at WTVH TV). We encountered a train going by. I'd never been standing so close to a train before. It was loud and interesting to watch.
Disappointment hit me when we arrived at our destination to find the old bus station was torn down and two buildings were built in it's place.

Of course, it's been nearly 27 years since I took my first bus to Syracuse and I don't know how many years ago the bus station moved. Walking back to our parking spot on Main Street, the rest of Cortland hasn't changed too much. New stores replaced the Christian book store I once loved to visit though.
I'm so thankful I had the opportunity to walk down and around Memory Lane! I can't wait until the next adventure with the Love of my Life!
