God Will Take Care of You

 what a mess!

What was planned to be a quiet afternoon of tea and writing, turned out to be an afternoon of stress!
As my dear friend Joan prepared a yummy snack of oranges and tea water (both ended up untouched) we both heard a crash.
Given there was cold and snow in the air, I thought it was a city plow/salt truck.  Joan looked out the window to find the back end of my practically new (June 2017) Nissan Sentra smashed and the truck that hit it damaged in her neighbor's yard.
"What happened?"  I exclaimed to the driver, who was very apologetic.  He claimed it was his driver assist feature gone wrong.  A pure accident!
I called Tim and he quickly came to the rescue to help me with phone calls to the police, the car dealership and insurance company (thanks to Joan who could look up some of the numbers for us on her phone.)
I stressed out about having to go to work, a parking enforcement car showing up (the officer was just bringing some paperwork.  I thought maybe I wasn't parked correctly causing the accident) Joan kept on reminding me everything was going to be okay.   She proved again to be a faithful friend, which I am extremely thankful for!
I also have a renewed love and appreciation for my husband.  He took off of work to help me.  I am thankful to have had him in my life for 22 years now (we met late January 1997).
I keep trying to remember Joan's words "Everything will be okay!"  I know things will become stressful as the car is leased.  Early indications are that both ours and the driver's insurance companies will make the process as easy as possible.
Through this and other stressful times in my life, I have remembered God is in control.  There is so many things that could have happened that would have made this situation worse. I could have been in the car or Joan if we had decided to go out for our visit.  If it was a different time and place, my husband and kids could have been with me.  The man working on his driveway/sidewalk could have easily been hit as the truck ended up veering into his yard.  Another car could have been coming the other way. It's a somewhat busy street.  I am thanking God for His protection on all involved
A song that came to mind was God Will Take Care of You by Civilla Martin.
"God will take care of you
Through every day
o'er all the way
He will take care of you
God will take care of you."
The song by the way was written in the town of my birth, Johnson City NY, while Civilla's husband was helping the president of Practical Bible Training School (now Davis College).
I took the time to count my blessings since this accident,my friends, my family, my job (the residents and my co workers were very concerned for me).  and my God who provided it all.
God is so good!!! All the time even through days like January 29, 2019!
