So Thankful
It's been months since I've updated this blog. I've been concentrating more on writing short stories the past few months. That is my first love of writing. My first short story was a book I made in 5th grade. I still have it somewhere. I'll have to find it.
Anyway, I got to thinking on my way home yesterday from a work meeting about this time of year. I have so much to be thankful for!!! Then I remembered this blog, a place where I can express my appreciation for all God has done for me.
Here's my list for 2019...
I'm thankful I still have both of my parents. I'm on the verge of turning 50...yikes LOL! A few of my friends have lost one or both of their parents recently. My Dad is turning 80 in May. My Mom is 73. I know my time with them is short. They are such a loving support to me. I'm so blessed to have them. I'm also thankful that in the coming week I have the opportunity to see them a few times.
I'm thankful for my 2 brothers Jeremy and Jason. I got to spend some time with Jeremy and his family a couple of weeks ago. That was a very precious time. Jason is coming up this weekend with his wife Pema. I'm looking forward to seeing them too!
I'm thankful for my loving, patient husband Tim. He has put up a lot from me the past 22 years. I'm thankful for his unconditional love.
I'm so blessed to have my three wonderful children. Elijah is now a grown man. He turned 21 in September. He is about to graduate with his Bachelor's in Psychology at the University at Buffalo, one of if not the top public schools in New York State. I'm proud of him as he is making some very wise decisions in his life right now.
I've come to appreciate Nate, who about to turn 17 a lot more recently. He has been going through some health problems the past 6 weeks and being tested for more. I think it has made us closer.
15 year old Anna is growing up too fast! We had fun enjoying a Home Free concert a few weeks ago. That was an amazing time! I loved the excitement in her face as she watched her favorite group.
I'm thankful for my church, Maple Avenue Baptist. It has a very special place in my heart. It's where I met Tim 23 years ago. Although our congregation is small (and sadly just got smaller after the death of 2 founding members in a week) our church is full of love and compassion!
I'm thankful for my job as a dining room server at Appleridge Senior Living. After 3 years, I still love the people! They are awesome to serve and talk to. I also have an awesome team of co workers! I just started a new shift delivering breakfast and lunch to the residents who either chose to or can't make it to the dining room. It's nice to see the joy on the residents faces as they get their meals. It honestly does make me a bit more nervous but I think that will go away the more I do it.
I'm thankful for many wonderful friends Most of them have been supportive in person. Some of them I probably never will meet. I love technology that has brought us together!!!
Most importantly, I'm thankful for a God who takes care of me and is patient with me more than Tim could ever be. He knows my innermost thoughts and feelings that no one else knows. That's a scary thought. He knows my fears. I love the song Because He Lives as I have said before. Because God lives I can face whatever comes my way.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
