Favorite Songs
I'm joining the world of blogging. I hope you enjoy your visit.
The eagle picture on my home page was taken on July 4 at my parents house. We were renewing our family tradition of playing croquet in the backyard on July 4 when we looked up and found the eagle soaring over a neighbor's house.
I thought of that Stuart Hamblin song "They That Wait Upon the Lord" Our family has sure had to do a lot of waiting on the Lord. My mom was diagnosed with thyroid cancer 2 weeks ago. It was the latest and most serious of many health problems my mom has been diagnosed with in the past few years.
Another song that has become a favorite of mine in the past few weeks is The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power" I picked out the song for a solo before my mom's diagnosis. I was set to sing it a week ago Sunday. I practiced it before Sunday School. I did fine then. However, when I started the second verse during church the thought crossed my mind how true the words were. God had to dry some more tears.
"It soothes my doubts and calms my fears
And it dries all my tears......"
To be honest, I still have some fears. The drs are confident that the surgery and a dose of radiation will take care of the cancer and it that it hasn't spread. We are all concerned for the surgery my mom will face on July 24 to remove her thyroid.
I shed some more tears as I was leaving my parents' house on Friday night. It was partly of sadness that my mom is so ill, but I saw the loving and worried look my dad had in his eyes. I had to go back and give my dad an extra hug. I saw him sitting on his front steps so sad! My heart broke for him (and my mom too). My parents have gone through a lot in their nearly 42 years of marriage. I feel badly that they are now going through this.
It's a comfort to know that God is there for my parents. I know they have their trust in Him. This is a test of my faith also. God has got me through some really tough times before (the death of my baby girl Gabrielle is the biggest example). I know He'll get us through this time also.
Yes, the Blood will never lose it's power....AMEN!
