Sad Goodbye

On Saturday afternoon, we said our earthly goodbyes to a woman who I have come to love so deeply in the past 14 1/2 years....my mother in law, Mary Cone.   I honestly fell apart quite often throughout the day.  My heart ached for my hurting husband and his siblings, especially for his brother Michael and wife Debbie as they had to say goodbye to both of their moms in the same day.
My heart hurt for my kids.   I lost it when I saw my oldest son, Elijah, crying as the funeral was ending and my other son Nate crying after his grandma was buried.
Honestly, my heart ached for myself as I had to say goodbye to the woman I have come to love so deeply throughout the 14 1/2 years I've been part of the Cone family.   Her favorite song was Jesus Loves Me.  It's special to me too.  We had it played at my daughter Gabrielle's funeral in early 2000.   I buried my head in Tim's shoulder as I listened to the words
"If I love him when I die, He will take me home on high"  Yes, Mom is home, but I sure miss her very much!
