We just got a letter today from our former church that we're invited to their 45th anniversary celebration in September. Glen Baptist Church was the church my husband Tim and I settled at a little over a year after we got married. Our oldest son was about a month and a half old when we started attending there on a regular basis. We became members the next summer. During our 6 years at Glen, we made many very special memories. I was involved with the children and music ministries. My husband was a Sunday School teacher and deacon. The people there were true friends. They were there for us during our most painful time of our marriage. In August of 1999, our daughter Gabrielle was diagnosed prenatally with a fatal birth defect called anencephaly. I'm sitting here at 1:30 AM after a wonderful, but exhausting day with my in laws. Every August my husband and his 6 siblings and his mom have a family picnic. I am blessed to have wonderful in laws! My 3 sister in law's are like the sisters I never had. I really pigged out today! I was thinking if I snuck a few brownies and cookies, I'd avoid the blood sugar crash I've been experiencing the past few weeks. NO, about 12:30, I checked my blood sugar. It was 47! It was normal when I went to bed at 11:15. My new endocrinologist has been adjusting some medicine. He actually lowered my insulin dose and slowly raised it again, but it looks like it needs to go back down some more. I'll have to call his office back on Monday to report this deal I'm actually thankful that my sugar is under control. My averages are back down to normal now.
